Immensee (film)

Immensee is a 1943 German film directed by Veit Harlan.[1] It is loosely based on a story by Theodor Storm.[2]

Synopsis

Elizabeth marries a wealthy landowner to forget her unrequited love and grows to love him. Although her lover returns, and her husband dies, she remains faithful.

The character of Elizabeth is presented as a model of "German fidelity" and the sanctity of marriage.[2]
